Mary Lee Barron, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP: Dr. Barron is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Associate Professor, School of Nursing, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and the Director of Marquette Fertility Education, offering Marquette Method of NFP. Her nursing experience has focused on OB-GYN in a variety of settings. Dr. Barron has taught and researched in Natural Family Planning for 20 years. She has presented regionally, nationally, and published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, and co-authored a textbook on prenatal care.
Marguerite Duane, MD, MHA, FAAFP: Dr. Marguerite Duane, a board certified family physician, is co-founder and Executive Director of FACTS – the Fertility Appreciation Collaborative to Teach the Science, an organization dedicated to educating healthcare professionals and students about the scientifically valid natural or fertility awareness based methods of family planning. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University, where she directs an introductory course on FABMs. Dr. Duane completed her training and education at Lancaster General Hospital, SUNY Stony Brook and Cornell University. Dr. Duane balances her career as a teacher and Family Physician, with her role as a wife and mother of 4 young children.
Marilyn Shannon, MA: Marilyn McCusker Shannon is a tenured, part time instructor of biology at Indiana University Purdue University at Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she has taught human anatomy and physiology to health professions undergraduates for over 30 years. She holds a master’s degree in human physiology with a minor in biochemistry from Indiana University’s Medical Sciences Program. Marilyn is the author of Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition, first published in 1990 and soon to be published in a 5th edition. She has written and spoken widely on the topic of women’s reproductive health and its link to nutrition. Marilyn and her husband Ron have taught the symptothermal method (STM) as a Teaching Couple for the Couple to Couple League since early in their marriage. Ron and Marilyn are the parents of nine children and eleven grandchildren.
Deidre A. Wilson, DO, CFCMC: Dr. Wilson is the founder of Body and Soul Healthcare, P.L.C. She uses a non-destructive, cooperative approach to the treatment of infertility. Dr. Wilson has earned the highest certification possible for physicians using NaProTechnology. Dr. Wilson completed her undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Arizona State University. She received her Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree in 2002 from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She completed her training in family medicine at Mesa General Hospital. She served as staff physician at LCWC and Aid to Women Center, and she teaches at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix as Doctoring Program Faculty. Dr. Wilson resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and their six children. She enjoys her family, the outdoors, volunteer work, and teaching medical students and fertility care professionals.
